Been
Here Three Months
We
have been in South Africa for three months. We had to leave the country before
the 11 May so Andrew could return and have his visa validated. So now we are
both legal!
For
our trip away we chose to go to Mauritius. Andrew wanted a place to relax and
blob in the sun after three quite intense months of work.
We drove to Johannesburg, a bit
hair raising but we got there without getting lost too often. Then flew to
Mauritius. We stayed on the North West coast of the island in a lovely spot
called Pereybere. Had a lovely, small, quiet hotel and did nothing much but
walked, read our books, snorkeled, and ate . The snorkeling was fun although the reefs showed
obvious damage from cyclones, pollution and anchor damage. The fish were still
lovely. Some were very inquisitive, would come very close then give you a quick
wee nip!
A friendly local pinching
some our breakfast!
Cafes were hard to find
but this one was good.

Looking back towards the
hotel.
Life’s a beach-infinity
pool and beyond.
Andrew enjoyed playing
with the new camera.
Some of the island was
very mountainous.
