We have have had a mixed bag of activities in the last couple of weeks.
The church I go to organised a South African evening of dance and food. We haven't been able to find a lot in the way of native music or food so we happily went along. It was a great evening. The food was interresting. I am afraid I didn't try the tripe Several of the other dishes were interesting. The one I enjoyed the most was pumpkin leaves and minced peanuts!
We had another day in Kruger Park. It is always great fun to see such an array of animals wandering around and people caged up in their cars. There are many more impalas in the park than any other animal but they some of my favourites. They are very beautiful and so graceful.
The last Sunday we went to the Sudwala caves which are close by. They are the oldest known caves, to man, in the world. They we big and very impressive but because they do not have glowworms or a river running through them they are not as beautiful as Waitomo caves.
We are enjoying watching the Olympic games. We get good coverage and I have managed to see quite a lot of the Kiwis in action.
This Saturday we will go to a local sport restaurant for breakfast and watch the final of the super 15 rugby, Chiefs play Sharks. It will interesting in a South African atmosphere!
